Specialized support and monitoring during your pet's golden years.
With proper care, nutrition and supplements, your pet can stay happy and healthy longer. Because we want our clients to live a long, happy life with their pets, we pay special attention to the care provided to our geriatric patients.
Here are some things you might notice in your pet as they get older:
If you notice one or more of these symptoms, we suggest you make an appointment with your veterinarian, who can recommend ways to make your pet more comfortable and improve their quality of life.
The best thing you can do to help your aging pet is to keep them healthy. This means more frequent visits to the veterinarian are recommended, for example, every six months instead of only once a year. More regular visits will allow your veterinarian to keep a close eye on your pet’s condition and diagnose any health problems faster.
You may also have to adjust to your pet’s slower pace and change some of your habits to accommodate them. For example, you may want to play less vigorously or go for shorter walks if these activities seem to tire them out.
Finally, ask your veterinarian whether your pet’s diet is still appropriate for their new pace and nutritional needs. Your veterinarian may recommend a different food and nutritional supplements to keep your pet healthy.
